Friendly staff and quick turnaround, but my negatives came back with colour crossover and very prevalent scratches throughout the roll. It seems like their processor racks aren’t being adequately cleaned and their chemicals aren’t being properly replenished. They’re reasonably priced and I really appreciated the person at the counter getting my roll done quickly, but I’m quite disappointed with the result.

Hands down the best shop for all your photo needs! The customer service is top tier and transparent. I promise you this team delivers amazing work every time! Don’t walk, run here, but be patient with them, as some days you’ll get your film work anywhere from an hour to maybe next day, but it’s always worth the wait! I am overly grateful for the team at Photolife! They exceed expectations every chance they get!

Been going to Photo Life for a few years as their prices are pretty affordable. However, I most recently had an issue with a camera I purchased from them. The flash did not work. I went today only to ask for a discount (not even a refund). I wanted a discount on the digitals since they likely wouldn’t develop well since the flash didn’t work. But I was told no. Not sure how the responsibility lies on the customer when they sold the faulty product. If you want to support a POC/small business I would recommend Photodom, I’ve never had issues with their cameras!

This is the best film shop I've been to in NYC - they're so good and convenient that I've stopped developing my film at home and just take it to them now. They have the best prices for development and scanning and their turnaround time is amazing. Today I dropped off a roll for development and had the scans emailed to me an hour later. Additionally, the store is family run and they're always friendly and helpful. I really can't recommend this store enough. All of the attached photos are scans from them. I have a dedicated 35mm film scanner, but since discovering Photo Life I rarely scan my film myself anymore because their scans are so good. Pay attention to the lighting, in particular - a lot of photo labs will blow out the shadows in low light shots, resulting in grainy, messy, and tinted scans that look awful, but the scans I get back from Photo Life preserve blacks and shadows even on rolls where the dynamic range varies wildly. Seriously, check them out because they're truly a hidden gem.

Been to a TON of film labs throughout NYC but non get closed to the bargain you get here, brought 8 rolls of 35mm film (color&BW) total was $58, opted for standard scans since I didn’t know how they would come out & I was pleasantly surprised with the result. Turn around time was also about 3 hours for 8 rolls of film, that’s unheard of!! Only thing I fear is that with the coming popularity their prices might start to rise as we typically see happen with other film labs.
